Remember the days when people sent letters/emails with some kind of instructions to one another and then send it to the next person? We reintroduced a version of it with the A MAZE. Chain Zine in the weeks before A MAZE. / Berlin - Total Digital. We invited people to collaboratively create a zine with Nathalie Lawhead’s Electric Zine Maker. We’ve sent out instructions to people on different continents who worked on a page and then send it off to the next person of their choice. We hoped the pages would travel far and wide giving us a glimpse of the world and creators in it before coming back to A MAZE. Completed zines have returned! In this session we have invited people from around the world who took part in our A MAZE. Chain Zine experiment and talk a bit more about the zines, the pages and the creators! Here they are now, in the A MAZE. / SPACE.
An open sound system where everyone can come and play their music! Bring your tools and instruments, and sing up or play ad hoc! Everyone is welcome! This is the OSST in physical times. It’s so good that a digital 3D sculpure is a must.
The #amazenotdead kickstarter campaign was wonderful and successful! We are so happy over the great support by over 500 backers from around the world. With the money we could manage to set up our A MAZE. / Berlin 2020 Festival - to thank you every backer we build a monument to for that cause and it will stand forever. <3
The illustrator and animator Nomi created a planet constellation for the A MAZE. / SPACE in the Lobby.
Doba-Dash is a 3D combat-racing game centred around informal waste collectors. In the exciting imaginative new game, these recycling heroes have their own underground cart racing scene where they do whatever it takes to outwit and outdo each other through speed and clever use of weapons made out of waste material in order to win trash bags which ,like in reality, secure a means of income but also a cleaner environment.
This game has been created by the Ghanaian artist, Afrane Akwasi Bediako. His works explore the idea of augmentation and extensions between technological gadgets and humans. He works with discarded electronic gadgets which he refers to as “amputees”. He refashions and repurposes these amputees into machines and micro- organisms he describes as “Trons”.
